Language test registration and dates for winter semester 2025/26
Registration starts at the same date as applications for undergraduate degree programs and usually ends two days before the respective test date.
Are you applying directly to Freie Universität Berlin?
You can register if you have created an online application for the desired subject, selected "Yes" under "Registration for the language test" and submitted the application. The application must be visible in your Freie Universität Berlin's application account. After submitting the application, it can take 1-2 working days for the registration login to work. It is best to register using a computer, not a smartphone or tablet.
Language test for applicants for the following bachelor's degree programs:
English Language and Literature (Major, 60 CP minor or 30 CP minor subject in a combi bachelor)
Elementary Education with English as the Elective
North American Studies (Mono bachelor)
Applied North American Studies (Major subject in a combi bachelor)
North American Studies (60 CP minor subject in a combi bachelor)

July 31, 2025, 2:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
September 15, 2025, 12 noon - 2:30 p.m.
Please arrive 30 minutes before the start of the test so that the test can start on time!

Please register here: https://www.lvplanung.fu-berlin.de/. You will need the username and the password of your Freie Universtität Berlin's application account. Alternatively, you can register directly from Freie Universität Berlin's application portal. You can find out how to do this in this FAQ about the application portal.
After submitting the application, it can take 1-2 working days for the registration login to work. If after that time you still face difficulties with the registration, please contact our secretaries' office.
