Language tests

The FUB Language Center is responsible for testing the special language requirements for the following bachelor's degree programs:

North American Studies (Mono bachelor)

C1

English Language and Literature (Major, 60 CP minor or 30 CP minor subject in a combi bachelor)
Elementary Education with English as the Elective
Applied North American Studies (Major subject in a combi bachelor)
North American Studies (60 CP minor subject in a combi bachelor)

B2.2

French Language and Literature (Major / 60 CP minor subject with teacher training option)
Elementary Education with French as the Elective

B1

French Studies (Mono bachelor)
German and French Literature and Cultural Studies (Mono bachelor)

B2

Italian Language and Literature (Major / 60 CP minor subject with teacher training option)

B1 or "Vorstudiensprachkurs"

Italian Studies (Mono bachelor)

B1 or "Vorstudiensprachkurs"

Spanish Language and Literature (Major / 60 CP minor subject with teacher training option)

B1 or "Vorstudiensprachkurs"

The level listed refers to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

The English language test is necessary in order to verify that you have sufficient command of the language in order to successfully begin your studies at the requisite level and hence complete your studies within the allotted time period.

No prior knowledge of Italian, Spanish or French is required for both the 30- and 60-credit-point (non-teacher training) option. If you do have prior knowledge, then you should take the placement test before the start of the semester.
