Language tests

The FUB Language Center is responsible for testing the special language requirements for the following bachelor's degree programs:

BA North American Studies (Mono bachelor)

C1

BA programs English Language and Literature / Elementary Education with English as the Elective / Applied North American Studies (Major subject in a combi bachelor) / (Applied) North American Studies (60 CP minor subject in a combi bachelor)

B2.2

BA programs French Language and Literature / Elementary Education with French as the Elective

B1

French Studies / German and French Literature and Cultural Studies

B2

Italian Language and Literature (Major / 60 CP Minor with teacher training option)

B1 or "Vorstudiensprachkurs"

Italian Studies

B1 or "Vorstudiensprachkurs"

Spanish Language and Literature (Major / 60 CP Minor with teacher training option)

B1 or "Vorstudiensprachkurs"

The level listed refers to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

The English language test is necessary in order to verify that you have sufficient command of the language in order to successfully begin your studies at the requisite level and hence complete your studies within the allotted time period.

No prior knowledge of Italian, Spanish or French is required for both the 30- and 60-credit-point (non-teacher training) option. If you do have prior knowledge, then you should take the placement test before the start of the semester.
