Dynamic autonomy model with descriptors » Motivating myself

Motivating myself

To motivate oneself is an important skill in autonomous learning. This includes motivating oneself at the beginning of the learning process, but also remotivating oneself when the initial motivation wears thin.

  •

    I can do this

    I want to learn this

    This isn't important for me

  •

    I can do this

    I want to learn this

    This isn't important for me

I am aware of my motivation for learning and can reflect on this.

I can motivate myself to learn (for example, by choosing materials that interest me, by framing my learning within interesting projects, by learning together with others, by rewarding myself when I succeed).

I can remotivate myself when I notice that my initial motivation is wearing thin.

Think about things that really motivate you to learn then complete the following sentence:

I can motivate myself to learn by …

    For further descriptors see monitoring.

  •

    I can do this

    I want to learn this

Do you like learning together with others? In that case, go to cooperating.
